Six months after its Service brethren were retired at Coningsby, the last airworthy Sepecat Jaguar in Britain bowed out of service at Boscombe Down with its operator, QinetiQ, on December 20. The machine, T.2A XX833, was flown by Sqn Ldr Andy Blythe from the Fast Jet Test Squadron over various airfields with a Jaguar history, routeing via RAF Coningsby, Coltishall, BAE Systems Warton and RAF Marham. The aircraft had a near-33-year flying career, but is now out of hours. Delivered from BAe Warton to the MoD in February 1975, it was transferred to RAE Farnborough in February 1989, going to Boscombe Down in April 1994, and finally becoming a QinetiQ "asset" in July 2001.
