Thoracoscopic parathyroidectomy of an ectopic mediastinal adenoma

AbstractThoracoscopic parathyroidectomy in a patient with an adenoma in the lower mediastinum is described. This is a new method, probably reducing morbidity compared with median sternotomy, and has to the authors' knowledge not been described before.
