Heat Capacity of Silver Iodide. IV. Heat Content of Quenched Stoichiometric Material

Experiments have been performed to measure the heat content of stoichiometric silver iodide, water quenched from the highhyphen;temperaturelpar;agr;rpar;phase to room temperature. The data shows the retention of large amounts of energy during quenching, and this is shown to be consistent with a model of lattice disorder which was developed to explain anomalous thermal properties of annealed material.
