摘要

We investigated statistical characteristics of spike sequences of Class-I and II neurons by two statistical coefficients; coefficient of variation and skewness coefficient. We used the Morris-Lecar model and the Hindmarsh-Rose model because the models can exhibit both properties of Class-I and II neurons by operating their parameters. The models are stimulated by uncorrelated fluctuations. In spite of the fact that the Class-II Morris-Lecar model and the Class-II Hindmarsh-Rose model belong to the same class, the two models exhibit different property in the space of the two statistical coefficients. Our results also show that the difference is related to different behavior after spiking; While the Class-II ML model shows damping oscillations, the Class-II HR model shows self-sustained oscillations.
