Fast response servo-operated instruments often call for a need of a high gain servoamplifier. Though the choice of the type of the amplifier often depends upon quite a number of factors such as the availability of power supply, the performance specifications of the control instrument, etc., from the point of view of economy, simplicity and size, d.c. servoamplifier becomes the obvious choice in many cases.
