New Sampling-Collection Technique for the Study of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) Formation in Flames

Formation and evolution of PAHs in flames are studied using a sampling and collection method, that is a small diameter probe with a gas chromatographic stainless steel column connected immediately downstream of the probe. After the sampling and collection, the column, disconnected from the probe, is inserted into a flame ionization gas chromatograph for the analysis.
