SEMPRA ENERGY said April 17 it has signed commercialdevelopment agreements with Japan’s Mitsubishi and Mitsui todevelop a gas liquefaction export facility at Sempra’s CameronLNG import terminal in Hackberry, Louisiana. San Diego-basedSempra said the agreements “bind the parties to fund all developmentexpenses,” including design, permitting and engineering,as well as to negotiate 20-year tolling agreements, basedon agreed-upon terms outlined in the commercial developmentagreements. Each tolling agreement would be for 4 millionmt/year. Negotiations with other parties for the export of theremaining 4 million mt/year of liquefaction capacity are continuing,Sempra added.
