A highly sensitive and simple method for the determination of heptaoxyethylene dodecylether (HOE) by fluorescent derivatized high performance liquid chromatography in conjunction with preconcentration by an #x3B1;-hydroxyethylated styrene-divinylbenzene resin column was developed. This method showed a recovery rate as high as 92 with a standard deviation below 10. The lower limit of determination in river water was 1#x3BC;g/1.
