COMETS FOR THE VISUAL OBSERVER IN 2009

There are no especially bright short-period comets expected to be visible during 2009, although a handful shouldbecome bright enough to be visible in small telescopes, and several others should be detectable in larger instruments.One long-period comet may reach faint naked-eye visibility, and a few additional such objects should also be detectablevisually.
