Review of Recent Literature: Research Concerning Comets

The past few installments of this series have concentrated on the results from cometary spacecraft missions such, as Stardust and Deep Impact This installment focuses on exciting results for non-spacecraft-mission comets - including two recent naked-eye comets, C/2004 Q2 (Machholz) and C/2006 PI (McNaught). Interesting results include the discovery of a never-before-seen atomic iron tail and the identification of the most-carbon-depleted comet.
