The project started in spring 2000, when enduser Mine Tusimice opened a tender for a new 1250 m long coal conveyor transporting coal directly from the mine to the power plant nearby. The tender was won by the Czech company Klement, who had two solutions:Because of the relatively high level difference between the head end and tail end of the conveyor systems (52 m) and the relatively short braking time (approx. 12 s) required, it was necessary to:either split the conveyor into two parts with two drive stations and brakes on the high speed side, orbuild a single conveyor with brakes on the drive station and on the tail end as well.The main task was to stop this new declining conveyor system within 12 5 in case of an emergency.
