Interannual variations of mean monthly and mean annual total ozone (TO) for 1973-2002 and for two half-periods are considered using measurements from the Roshydromet ground-based network stations, averaged over five Russian regions. Groups are identified with increased mean annual and December-March mean total ozone in a "warm" lower Arctic stratosphere in winter and with low total ozone in a "cold" atmosphere. Statistical significance of the difference between the mean annual and winter mean total ozone for these groups is estimated for the whole measurement period and for two half-periods, as well as the connection of total ozone of these groups with quasi-biennial oscillations of the equatorial zonal transport and with the Arctic and North Atlantic oscillations. These connections can be used for assessing the expected interannual deviations of TO means by regions and seasons.
