Wood Group to acquire Amec Foster Wheeler

London-listed oil service company Wood Group has launched a ￡2.225bn ($2.72bn) all-share takeover offer for rival Amec Foster Wheeler. Wood Group is offering 0.75 new shares for each Amec Foster Wheeler share. The deal, which would leave Amec Foster Wheeler's shareholders with around 44pc of the enlarged company, has been unanimously recommended by both boards of directors. Wood Group expects the takeover to deliver cost synergies of at least ￡110mn.
