During the 1990s the European chocolate market experienced a steady rise of 4 percent - a trend which did not go unnoticed by the Belgian fruit product specialist Fruibel. The company has been taken over by Unifine Dohler (itself now part of Royal Cosun), and is developing a unique range of specialist chocolate ingredients. Based in Manage, Belgium, and founded just 10 years ago, Fruibel originally made its name by producing and selling quality bakery and catering ingredients. So successful was it,that by the turn of the century this very young company was exporting to craft/industrial bakers, confectioners and catering customers in more than 60 countries. Looking back, it was only natural for the company to expand its product range to encompass other things such as chocolate. However, Fruibel didn't just take on a supplier like most businesses. With space to spare in its state-of-the-art food manufacturing plant the company decided to install its own chocolate producing facilities.
