Since its foundation, Maschinenfabrik Beumer has specialised in major belt conveyor installations in the field of conveyor technology and achieved a worldwide reputation. In 2003 Beumer in consortium with the local company Masa of the Dragados Group was given the order to install a curved troughed belt conveyor for the transport of limestone for the Spanish cement manufacturer Tudela Veguin. Its plant La Robla in northwest Spain previously used lorries to transport limestone from the quarry to the cement plant. In the course of building a new production line with a clinker throughput of 3000 tons per day, the commissioning of the curved belt conveyor installation in 2005 allowed it to dispense with environmentally unfriendly and cost intensive lorry transports. The company, active in cement production in northern Spain, with a total of three plants has relied on the technology in Beumer installations for a long time.
