Protecting the more than 1,000 employees and its $1.3 billion state-of-the-art semiconductor chip fabrication plant was top priority for Samsung's Austin Semiconductor (SAS) plant when choosing a fire-protection system for its new facility in Austin, Texas. Consequently, Samsung set stringent standards that would not only fulfill today's fire and hazardous material codes, but would also provide reliable protection and early detection.
