Multi-layer stenters - a genuine alternative to the single-layer stenter

The multi-layer or tier stenter (Figs. 1 and 2), was originally only common in the cloth, wool and felt industry. It is only in recent years that the multi-layer stenter has also been used increasingly for drying and thermosetting of very light and sensitive woven and knitted goods - with such success that many wellknown knitted fabrics companies now prefer the multi-layer stenter to the single-layer stenter for e.g. jersey fabrics made of cotton, cotton-Lycra, cotton-PES, cotton-viscose, pique (Lacoste), tulle, silk etc.
