摘要

Recovery from depression after treatment with medication does not increase the density of 5-hydroxytryptamine receptors 1A (5-HT1A), even after a long unmedicated period 1, and there is no correlation between the 5-HT1A binding potential (BP) and the severity of depression symptoms 2. This has led to the conclusion that the lower level of 5-HT1A receptors could be a trait marker of depression, reflecting a heightened risk for further depressive episodes.
