European tire company's strong double digit sales growth in 1Q 2014

European tire companies have recorded double digit sales growth in almost all markets during 1Q 2014. Compared to a very slow start to 2013, ETRMA members reported strong growth in most product categories. The car segment grew by 10% to 51,115,000 units, while demand for truck & bus tires was up by 1 6% to 2,174,000 units. Agriculture tires showed 7%growth to 499,000 units, and motorcycle and scooter tires reached 3,018,000 - 12% higher than in the first three months of 2013.
