With an exploratory eagerness akin to Columbus, stamping and embossing equipment suppliers are having to determine whether their little corner of the world should be round, flat or a bit of both. Brandtjen Kluge, for one, remains primarily involved in the flat, sheetfed stamping and embossing sector. Flatbed equipment's lower investment readily opens the door to new foil stamping applications, but its throughput level can be a drawback, says John Edgar, vice president of sales and marketing.
