Yorkshire Water operates 700 water and sewage treatment works and 120 reservoirs. Dave Nussey, manager of its Network Technologies Team, tells Keri Allan how a major upgrade to the company's ICT systems has boosted functionality. THE DELIVERY of innovative, reliable IT services is seen as core to Yorkshire Water's business operations. Broadening the footprint of IT, increasing mobility, delivering real-time telemetry data, pushing the boundaries of the network and delivering greater bandwidth and reliability are seen as key requirements to help the organisation deliver the levels of service improvement and cost reduction that will enable it to still be considered the UK's number one water utility. The network technologies team, headed by Dave Nussey, worked on a project to improve communication between its 130 sites, allowing for further technological advancements to take place.
