HAEMA.TOLOGICA.L DEVIATIONS IN GOLDEN HAMSTERS INFECTED WITH HTMEXOLEPIS & STPHACIA SPP. AND THERAPEUTIC EVALUATION OF IVERMECTIN

摘要

Haematological studies and therapeutic efficacy of ivermectin used orally (0.007 mg/ml tap water) and topically as mist (0.9 to 1.2 ing/ml) were conducted in golden hanuters naturally infected with Syphocia and Hymenolepis spp. Total Leucocytic countsand differential counts of lymphocytes & eosinophils and mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration increased significantly in both (HI & SI) infected groups as compared to control. Haeraatocrit ratio and haemoglobin content also significantly (P<0.01)decreased in both infected groups. The treatment regimen was very effective agaimt Syphacia & Hynenolepis spp. After treatment the altered haematological values returned to normal on day '21' in both the infected groups.
