摘要

The toxic effects of pesticides have already been established (Pal et al. 1990, 1991, Bose et al., 1991). Nevertheless, these chemicals are indespensable for protecting food crops and animal husbandry. However, survey of available literature has revealed the derth of precise information on the extent of toxicologic biochemical changes induced by pesticides, especially under mal nourished state. Red blood cells of rats could serve as an excellent model for evaluating the chemical and/or structural damage, if any, influenced by the pesticides in vivo.
