GENETIC STUDIES ON GROWTH TRAITS IN GUINEA FOWLS

摘要

Guinea fowl is known for its hardiness, disease resistance and ability to survive and thieve under low management and feeding conditions. They however, have slow growth rate as compared to chickens. Growth performance is an economic important trait being influenced by various factors like variety, sex, seasons, etc. Hence, an attempt has been made to estimate variation in body weight and body conformation traits and their mode of inheritance.
