The third edition of the Red Book significantly changes disputes resolution. Sarah Thomas assesses the impact. I.Chem. E published the third edition of its Red Book last August. This is a lump sum form of contract most commonly used in process plant and water industry projects, although it can be considered as a model for any project where the contractor is responsible for design, construction and testing and where the client is seeking certainty as to scope and price.
