There are abundant reports showing a tremendous amount of revenue lost by corpu rations large and small because of unlawful system entries. Among ihe most widely usrd account access protection inechanisni.s is the PIN number, which provides ;i safeguard against illegal break-ins. Such a 1'IN number is vulnerable to break-ins resulting from visual peep and repealed trial attempts. This article introduces the Secured Personal Identification Number (SPIN) as an improved device io overcome these shortcomings of a plain PIN number.
