Power-saving Technology for Plasma Display Panels: -Research on a display for the Ultrahigh-definition TV

Strl is developing plasma display panels (PDPs) for the Ultrahigh-definition TV, called "Super Hi-Vision" (SHV). In general, the larger the display is, the larger its power consumption becomes. To promote the spread of large display PDPs, with which SHV's super-high definition video images can be enjoyed, we need to reduce the power consumption. Below, I will introduce our research on materials for the protective layer of a power-saving PDP.
