Using the daily data of TOMS(Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer)from1979 to 1994, the spatial and temporal variations of total ozone overEast Asia (69.375°E~139.375°E; 14.5°N~54.5N)and the west part ofEurope (20.625°W~40.625°E; 25.5°N~70.5°N)were analyzed to makean inter- comparison. Results showed that the mean ozoneconcentrations over the two regions similarly evolved in one year, with sinusoid curves which reached a maximum in spring (March forEast Asia, April for Europe), and a minimum in autumn(October andNovember for East Asia and Europe respectively).
