A CASE OF FIBROMA IN A SHE BUFFALO

Incidence of fibroma is frequent in cattle but very few reports are available in the literature about its occurrence in buffaloes (Mathur, 1960, Anderson and Sanidson, 1969). Fibroma reported growths occur in head, neck, shoulder, legs, nasal cavity,eyes and udder. In fibromas there is characteristic protrusion of connective tissue beneath the skin. The growths are circumscribed and encapsulated with a grayish or whitish jelly like material. Though they are not fatal but if present in the sensory organ like eye, may cause poor vision resulting in less feed intake, loss of production and decrease in the market value of the animal.
