BAYER AG's strong Q3 performance - Acquisition of Monsanto agreed

Bayer AG's group sales increased by 3.5% in Q3 to Euro 11,262 million while EBTIDA improved by 6% to Euro 2,682 million. Pharmaceutical sales were up by 3% according to Chairman Werner Baumann. Consumer health business was constant at last year's Q3 level at Euro 1,425 million. The Crop Science was successful in a persistently difficult market environment but sales declined by 1.2% to Euro 5,057 million.
