Mitie order book in good health

Building support services group Mitie has posted a 21 jump in pre-tax profit, from ￡58.2m to ￡70.6m, for the year ended 31 March 2008. Despite the credit crunch, turnover rose 14.5, from ￡1.23bn to ￡1.4bn over the year. Ruby McGregor-Smith, Mitie's chief executive, said: "We're confident in our ability to make progress in this economic climate and there are positive trading conditions across all divisions."
