A low-profile surface wave antenna for unidirectional beam pattern in horizontal plane

摘要

A surface wave antenna having an antenna gain of 6.80 dBi and an FB ratio of 15.44 dBi at 8.4 GHz is presented. This antenna is vertically polarized and achieved a unidirectional beam pattern in horizontal plane. It is composed of a loop element and an enclosing element which has an open end to obtain unidirectional beam pattern. Furthermore, a monopole array antenna model is used for verification of the antenna mechanism.
