CLINICAL OBSERVATIONS ON CANINE TRYPANOSOMIASIS

Canine trypanosomiasis appears to be a common clinical condition, the clinical picture of which varies greatly. The clinical findings of five cases is being reported here. On microscopic examination of blood smears of one hundred and seventeen dogs brought to the college hospital with history of inappetance having rectal temperatures of not less than 103 deg F, five cases were found positive for the presence of trypanosomes. On the basis of morphology all of them were T. evansi. The salient clinicalmanifestations observed in these cases is presented in Table-1.
