Effect of Cissus quadrigularis and Terminalia arjuna on certain metabolites and enzyme activity of blood and vital organ weights in White Leghorn birds

摘要

The present study revealed significantly (P<0.05) higher serum Ca and P levels in the birds fed with Cissus quadrigularis and Terminalia arjuna in comparison to control group. The activities of alkaline and acid phosphatase, SGOT and SGPT were also highest in birds fed with 0.3 percent of the two herbal plants. All the treatment groups showed significantly higher activities of these enzymes except for acid phosphatase. The weights of liver, lung and heart were also affected significantly but not thekidney weight.
