An investigation was carried out at research farm of Vasantdada Sugar Institute, Pune during sum season of 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 to assess the productivity of early and midlate maturing genotypes for cane yield and quality characters under plant andratoon crops. The results revealed the five genotypes viz., CoVSI 0309. CoM 0617, CoVSI 03102, CoVSI 0405, CoVSI 9805 were found significantly superior over the standards Co 86032 and CoC 671 for cane and sugar yield (t/ha) over two plant crops. None ofthe genotype was found superior to standard CoM 0265 for cane yield but two genotypes CoVSI 0309 and CoVSI 03102 were found superior for sugar yield in plant and ratoon crops. In ratoon crop only two genotypes viz., CoVSI 0309 and CoVSI 03102 were foundsuperior over standards Co 86032 and CoC 671 for cane and sugar yield (t/ha) while the genotypes CoM 0617 and CoVSI 9805 were found superior for cane and sugar yield respectively.
