STUDIES ON IMPORTANT PATHOGENS OF PUBLIC HEALTH SIGNIFICANCE FROM MARKETED RAW MILK AND CREAM IN BIKANER CITY

Daring the present study one hundred milk and fifty cream samples were screened for the presence of Slaphylococius aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes and E. coll. Eighteen out of one hundred raw milk samples were found to contain Staphyloeoecus aunus andonly fifteen out of eighteen isolates of Staphylococcus aureus tested, were recognised M enterotoxin producing. Ten out of fifty cream samples were found to contain Streptococcus aureus, all these strains were enterotoxigenic. During screening, Streptococcus pyogents strain of organism was not found in one hundred ard fifty samples of milk and cream, respectively. Ninety two and forty eight samples were found to contain E. coli on screening one hundred and fifty samples of milk and cream, respectively.
