Last December, Nissan launched its programme aimed at improving the design and development skills of its main component suppliers. Named COGENT, this is a joint initiative between the Nissan European Technical Centre (NETC) and Cranfield University with major funding from the government's Innovative Manufacturing Road Vehicle research programme. Ian Milburn, Deputy Managing Director of NETC told Automotive Engineer's Richard Burman how the project was going and how it was expected to develop.
