摘要

Total viable count in the 20 samples of chevon obtained from meat booths, of Kanke ranged from 6.3979 to 7.1847 with an average of 6.8463/g. The samples were positive for coliform and count varied from 4.9031 to 5.4658/g. Total viable count in 20 samples of chevon obtained from meat booths of Bahu Bazaar ranged from 6.5441 to 7.2788 with an average of 7.0138/g. All the samples were positive for coliform and count varied from 4.9031 to 5.9191 with an average of 5.6015/g. The total viable count was highest followed by coliform count in meat samples from both the places. Critical difference revealed significant difference among different counts. Meat samples collected from two sources were compared for different bacterial counts by calculating 't'-values. It is evident that the level of bacterial contamination was almost similar in meat samples collected from two different sources.
