New high yielding and high sugared varieties of sugarcane for bumper harvest in Central U.P.

Result of 2 plant and one ratoon crops revealed that Co 0118, Co 0239 and Co 0238 recorded higher pol% cane (plant pol% cane ranged 12.68 to 13.36%, ratoon pol% cane 12.52 to 13.0%) as compared to pol% cane of CoJ 64 (Plant pol% cane 12.65, ratoon pol% cane 12.39%) and CoS 8436 (plant pol% cane 11.87% ratoon pol% cane 11.67%.) Pooled data of cane yield of 2 plant crops and ratoon of Co 0238 and Co 0239 showed maximum improvement over CoJ 64 and CoS 8436 both standard varieties.
