SINGLE ORAL DOSE TOXICITY STUDY OF DELTAMETHRIN IN RATS

摘要

Deltamethrin, a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide increased the activities of serum transaminase (AST, ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) and blood glucose level, while it decreased total serum protein (TP), albumin (ALB) andglobulin (GLB) level in rats following single oral dose at 150 mg/kg. The insecticide also produced some cytotoxic effect on brain, stomach and intestine, lungs, liver, kidney and testis. It is also concluded that solvent vehicle DMSO has role on determination of LD_(50) of deltamethrin in rats. Deltamethrin altered biochemical parameters and histopathology of some tissues in rats after single dose oral administration.
