Seven successfully treated cases of status epilepticus are described and discussed . Seizures were aggravated in these cases owing to noncompliance of therapeutic instructions and abrupt cessation of barbiturate therapy. Emergency management of status epilepticus with intravenous diazepam and phenobarbitone was life saving.
