The haematobiochemical values were determined in healthy Soviet Chinchilla (SC) and Grey Giant (GG) rabbits under hot humid conditions of West Bengal. There was no appreciable effect of breed and sex on different haematological attributes of rabbits (except ILC, PC V, Basophi! and ESR for breed, and Neutrophil and Basophil for sex) but season had a significant effect (P<0.01) on all the blood parameters studied (except Hb and ESR) Breed had a significant effect on total protein, glucose and SGO'T only out of different serum biochemical parameters studied. The sex had a significant effect (p<0.01) only on SGPT and cholesterol values But season had a significant effect on all the serum biochemical constituents of rabbits However, this variation though statistically significant was within the limit of the biological system of the animals. The recorded data generated in the two breeds of rabbits may be used for clinical purpose under hot humid environmental conditions.
