摘要

The present study was undertaken to evaluate haematobiochemically the efficacy of three different internal fixation techniques in the management of comminuted diaphyseal femoral fractures in dogs. Clinically healthy, adult mongrel dogs (15) of eithersex were randomly divided into groups A, B and C of 5 animals each. In all the animals, unilateral comminuted diaphyseal femoral fracture was created under general (Thiopental-5 percent) anaesthesia and immobilized with intramedullary pinning with cerelage wiring (group A), dynamic compression bone plating (group B) and dynamic compression bone plating with cerelage wiring (group C) respectively. All the animals were administered broad,spectrum antibiotic and analgesic and surgical wounds were dresseddaily for 5 days post-operatively.
