First calving interval is an important critarian for measuring the breeding efficiency of animal. Regular breeding is essential for regular returns in terms of money. Long first calving interval increases generation interval and thus decreases rate ofannual genetic gain. The data on 302 observations of first calving intervals were collected on Sahiwal cows maintained at Government Cattle Breeding Farm, Anjora, Durg (M.P.). The data were classified according to period, season, sex of calf and parity. The data were analysed by Least Squares analysis of fitting constants with fixed effect model.
