This paper briefly describes the following aspects of a sugarcane-based intercropping system adopted by farmers in Hasanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India: selection of sugarcane cultivars and intercrops, evaluation of new promising sugarcane cultivars for higher yield and sugar recovery, and ethephon application.
