Electrical studies (based on conductivity and thermopower) and optical studies have been performed on implanted C60thin films. In order to obtain the doping effect by charge transfer from alkali atoms to C60molecules or to large fragments (stemming from degradation effects), the optimization of implantation parameters leads to the values: E = 30keV, D ⩽ 1015ions/cm2, T=77K. The conductivity sgrave and the thennopower S reach the values: σ ≅ 102ωcm−1and S ≅ -50μV/K.
