In our house, things have to wait in line for attention. So the planned participation in London to Brighton was a done deal between us, although the car had to wait its turn. First job was a new battery and a fresh gallon of oil: Halfords own Classic 20-50 found hidden on the bottom shelf. It claimed to contain a 'seal swell component' to reduce leakage and prolong seal life and to minimise oil loss and leakage due to its high viscosity! I didn't change the filter, but I did whip out the spark plugs in orderto spin the engine over to circulate the oil and see some pressure on the gauge before starting.
