Global weak solutions to the problem of continuous sedimentation of an ideal suspension

AbstractWe present the sedimentation of an ideal suspension in a continuous thickener as an initial value problem and study the transient states by constructing the corresponding global weak solutions. Finally, we obtain a way to control the operation of the thickener.
