Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Visualized With Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy

A 72-year-old man, who had acute right upper quadrant pain, underwent hepatobiliary scintigraphy for the evaluation of suspected acute cholecystitis. A large focus of increased activity identified in the midabdomen in the initial images faded during the first 10 minutes and was believed to represent an abdominal aortic aneurysm. A correlative CT verified the finding.
