We proposed the use of dual-polarized antennas at both the base station and the terminal to achieve SDMA such as in an environment in which signals from different users arrive from the same direction. Using spatial correlation is useful in judging the degree of discrimination between two users in the SDMA system. However, if spatial correlation is required among all users, the calculation obtaining the spatial correlations becomes complex when the number of users is large. This paper proposes a simplified polarization assignment method for the SDMA terminal station that adopts spatial and polarization control by using the spatial correlation (SC) and the difference in the SC. The proposed method can achieve the effective assignment of the polarization for the terminal stations is achieved even if the number of the users is large. Moreover, we evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed polarization assignment method by computer simulation using the measured data when the terminal moving in cellular environment.
